The Tefillin mirror

It is customary to wear tefillin every morning except for the Sabbath and holidays.
Tefillin (phylacteries) are strips of parchment inscribed with a verse from Exodus 13
and Deuteronomy 6 enclosed in a black, calf-skin case and fastened by thongs to
the forehead, arm, and hand.
“You shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets
between your eyes” (Deuteronomy 6:8).
In his quest to facilitate the complete fulfillment of this commandment, the artist
has created a special mirror so that when the tefillin are placed between the eyes,
one can ensure that their position is correct. The mirror is housed in a sterling
silver frame with the words from Deuteronomy. A leather pouch protects the
creation.
